I Spy......

As promised, here are some pictures of the I Spy bag I made for my Wee Man. He is a little young to use it quite yet, but I reason that it will come in as a life-saver on some car trips sometime in the future.

It was fun to make until it came to sewing the bag closed while full of tiny beads and trinkets:D

Quiet Book Update

So, I've been busy crafting it up!! I am working on a couple different toys for Wee Man - a Quiet/Activity Book (which will certainly be an ongoing project) and an "I Spy" bag (I will post pictures of this little guy later!)

In every free minute I've been obsessing about the details of this Quiet/Activity Book for Wee Man. It is just so darn fun!!

Oliver Jeffers.....

Wow. You are an amazing man! Ever since randomly stumbling across one of his children's book, The Great Paper Caper, I have been enthralled. While reading the book to Wee Man at bedtime I kept pondering what was behind the author. What made him tick. The book is hilarious and I keep noticing little things tucked away in the illustrations that I didn't the last 50 times I read it! His style is so unique and his illustrations interested me right off the hop. Well, turns out his books are critically acclaimed. Here is one of my favorite pages from the book we have.
So, I am on my way to Amazon.ca to buy more of his books. I think I am a little addicted to him at the moment. It is so hard to find children's books that are this artistically appealing to adults too. I mean, really, even the colophon page is beautiful to look at. Oh, and he's not so bad to look at himself! Really, Google some pics.........see, I told you! hehe.

Project for my Wee Man

So, I don't have a lot of time, but I am super excited to be starting this new project solely for my Wee Man.

I came across some fun templates for an activity book and I have been working away at it since I found them. It is just unbelievably fun! I don't get a lot done at a time with Wee Man up and about, but he is sleeping now and I am itching to get at it.

I'll post some pictures of the finished project (or on a page-by-page basis) since the entire project may just take me forever.

I did find some wonderful blogs that offered their templates and pictures up for the crafter gals. I am picking and choosing the ones I like the best and altering or adding to them as I wish.

Here are some links for you if you are interested in doing a "Quiet Book" of activities for your little one. Oh, and the blogs are wonderful to follow also:D
